Es war eine Binsenweisheit in den Ostblockstaaten: Der Sozialismus ist eine gute Idee, sie funktioniert leider nicht mit den Menschen.Leider ist das so mit Gesellschaftssystemen, die fehlerlose Menschen vorraussetzen (fehlerlos soll in diesem Beispiel mit der Freiheit von Bosheit, Gewinnstreben und Machtstreben gleichsetzbar sein).
Doch eine Meldung vom heutigen Tage brachte mir die Erkenntnis, dass dieses Prinzip auch wo anders funktioniert und ich darüber erstmal echt erleichtert bin: die umfassende Gendatenbank der Britischen Polizei (mehr als 5% der Bevölkerung GBs ist darin erfasst) ist nahezu wertlos, unbrauchbar, kaputt. Gut eine halbe Million Datensätze der vorhandenen 4 Millionen sind schlicht falsch. Da werden Namen falsch geschrieben, verwechselt, komplett erfunden usw.

Viele, vielleicht die meisten Menschen wissen, dass nicht wirklich alle Informationen ins Netz gehören. Persönliche und private Informationen sind nicht das, was man allen zeigen möchte. Das Problem sind Datensammlungen, auf die man keinen Einfluss mehr hat.Die Website Spock zeigt nun deutlich, wie wichtig das ist.

Nun hatte ich ein Update der Software gestaltet und durfte dann feststellen, dass danach diverse Plugins nicht mehr richtig laufen. Mindestens eines davon war für den SPAM zuständig ... Erstaunlich, wie viele Bots es auf der Welt gibt, die ein Weblog sofort zumüllen wenn die Schilde mal für einen Tag unten sind.

Nachdem ich nun, eher Ahnungsarm, auf die Suche nach einer eher sinnvollen Beschreibung zum Installieren des TOR-Servers auf meinem nagelneuen Linksys WRT58GL V1 (danke an St1) war, hatte mir Andrej dann die Seite von Rop empfohlen. Dort wird das recht gut beschrieben, jedenfalls wenn man das Software Repository von ihm nutzen möchte.

Im Land der unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten kann man ja auch Dinge patentieren, die noch gar nicht da sind. Also genauer, man kann Ideen patentieren. Nun hat Microsoft Inc. als Firma eine ganz besonders tolle Idee - Man möchte Inforamtionen langlebig speichern indem man folgendes vollbringt:"Die langlebig zu erhaltenden, leicht zugänglichen Informationen sollen dabei fest verbunden werden mit einem physischen Artefakt, das eine "organische oder nicht-organische Einheit" repräsentieren kann. Zusammen mit den Daten soll auch eine Beschreibung für den Zugang zu den Informationen die Zeitläufe überdauern, beispielsweise in verschiedenen Sprachen."

Vielleicht sollten die sich auch die Idee patentieren lassen, mit jahrtausendealten Vorgehensweisen auf patentrechlichem Wege Geld zu verdienen. Das wäre quasi ein mehrfach selbstbezügliches Patent.
